Custom Thank You Cards

For all the wonderful things I received for my birthday this year,
I wanted to be sure I showed my thankfulness for them
in a special way.

So, one afternoon while the tinies were resting
(I'm big, because I'm four)
Mommy and I had a little art session
and we whipped up these custom thank you cards.

I drew a self-portrait of myself
and then Mommy added a few embellishments
to really tell our story.

I really liked the way they turned out,
and I've received quite a few thanks in return.

Since Mommy and I are always coming up
with new ways to create a little loveliness around us,
this is definitely something we'll be doing over and over!

Fun With Babies

Sometimes we get bored.
So, we just find ourselves a baby,
put him in a box,
and push him around.
And then we all just laugh and laugh.

Mermaids, Pirates, and Cake... oh my!

Over the weekend I had my birthday party.
It was a blast.
We had a treasure hunt, we decorated mermaid tails and pirate hats,
we ate cupcakes, we ate pretzels with cheese (my favorite!),
we ran up and down the hill, we climbed trees,
it was so fun!
We found the TREASURE!;
My cousin, Haley's art work: mermaid and my birthday bag;
a little birthday decor
Here are a few of the Pirates and Mermaids who attended.
Doesn't little brother look so cute with a mustache??

I was given so many wonderful gifts, too.
Some books, some fanciness (gloves, purse, necklace),
an interactive map (which my mommy was SUPER excited about),
a pink fishing pole (which I have wanted since laying eyes on it months ago),
a Spin-Art wheel, clothes,
and some generous monetary gifts (or CASH! as I like to exclaim upon opening).

I was so exhausted afterwards, too;
we all were!
Little Sis was actually ASKING to go take a nap.
That's how you know it was a great party.

I'm Four Years Old... and I like to kick, stretch, and kick!

So, some of you may have seen
my Mom's post...

I am indeed four years old now.

And as tradition goes,
I birthday'd it up with Mommy on our date!

Heading out, making a crazy face, because that's just what I do these days.

Pretzels... mmm, yummy.

My coupon for my free birthday treat.

I chose a Blondie Blast.

After my treat, I decided to put on a Birthday Show.

After our date, we went home and I had gifts waiting for me!

Cash! Can't beat that.

Some Brain Quest for my mind.

And I have to look cute.
 (Thanks, Aunt Susie & Uncle Gene!)

Check out my Daddy's wrapping job... awesome.

New books... oh yeah!

Daddy was teaching me the ropes... the jump rope that is.

I think I'm definitely going to like being four.

Four Years

A Note From Mom:
Oh, little Light of mine,
another year of you blessing me beyond words
has left me in awe once more.

The wonder you hold;
the questions you ponder;
the beauty you find;
I often catch my breathe just looking at you.

My first little soul entrusted to me,
my whole being was shaken by your entrance
into this world
and I was forever changed.

I love you, Lucy Jo...
Happy Birthday, my little Love.
