Just a short update...

Well, I am enjoying solid food for the most part.  I really go crazy for pears, and I'm pretty excited about sweet potatoes as well.  I really, really enjoy drinking from a straw!  Mommy lets me have some cold water and it feels so wonderful on my gums!
Speaking of my gums... Mommy and I ran into my Aunt Lindsay and cousin Taylor at the zoo the other day and Aunt Lindsay looked down at me and saw a little white slit on my bottom gum.  Yep,  a tooth is beginning!  Won't that be great!  Now when I attack Mommy and Daddy, I can actually bite them with my teeth!  I'm super excited... although I didn't realize the discomfort I'd have to go through just to have some teeth.  I guess I'll just keep putting everything in sight into my mouth and gumming to pieces; that seems to make me feel better.
Enough for now!

Lucy

Six months old... Unbelievable!

I've now been in this world for six months!  It's incredible!  Mommy has to watch me now every where I go because I want into EVERYTHING!  I want everything in my mouth, and I want to touch everything in sight.  I think it wears Mommy out, but she seems to be loving every minute of it!  I'm still trying my hardest to crawl.  My aunts and uncles keep trying to show me different techniques, and I'm still debating which I'd like to use.  In the meantime, I just keeping working on my strength.  I've managed to become so strong that sometimes Daddy and Mommy can't even get things away from me... yeah, I'm that strong!

I'm six months today! Which means...

I GET FOOD!!!!

Day trip to Turner Falls

This last weekend I went to Turner Falls for a short day trip.  My Grandpa Albrecht, Uncle Wes, Aunt Lisa, Haley, Uncle Bryan, Aunt Anna, Daddy, Mommy, and me all drove down to Oklahoma for the day and had a great time!
There's a huge waterfall and the water was so cold, but Daddy helped me ease into it.  My cousin, Taylor, let me borrow her tube so I had the freedom to float wherever I wanted to.  We also hiked and explored some caves which was fascinating!  I was strapped to my Daddy so I was able to be very adventurous!  Towards the middle of the hike I was wiped out, so I took a short little nap while I was strapped to Mommy.
After our hike, we went back to one of the swimming areas where there was a water slide.  Daddy, Uncle Bryan, Aunt Anna, Grandpa, and Uncle Wes all went down it and it was very fun to watch that.  Mommy got some great pictures!  Mommy also went down the slide, but from the look on her face and the scream that she let out, I don't think she enjoyed it as much.  I just floated all around and let the current take me wherever!  It was such a great day!

The park

I love the park!  My cousin, Haley, came over and spent the day with Mommy and me before she started kindergarten and we decided to walk over to the park.  So, Mommy loaded me up in my stroller, Haley rode on the footrest, and Tig was tied to the front and pulled us along.  My great Grandma Albrecht met us there and played with us for awhile, too.  It was so much fun!

The pool...

I love to scream now!  I especially love to scream at the pool because it's so
 much fun!  If you
 look closely you can
 see the cool
 mushroom fountain
that is tons of fun to play in (pardon the two grown men in the picture... Mommy didn't realize they were in the picture until we looked at them
 later!)  But once I'm
done... I'm done, and I'm ready to head home!  We don't live too far from the pool, so we sometimes walk and I get a nice little nap in on the walk home.  It's a pretty great life...
The pool closes next week, so Mommy and I hope to get in a few more swims!  I'd like to recall some of my visits there and the friends that I've made:  Shelby, Alexis, and Evie were some very nice little ladies who very much enjoyed me, and had a great time putting on "shows" for me.  I thought they were great!  There was also a nice young gentleman who when finding out my
name was Lucy recited "I Love Lucy" quotes over and over.  "Luuucy, I'm home!", "Lucy, you got some splain'n to do".  He was probably eight or so; Aunt Lindsay and Mommy got a real kick out of him!  And then there was Jordan, a little six year old young man who showed off his jumping skills as close as he possibly could to Mommy and I.  Then when Mommy moved us to another part of the pool she felt a huge splash behind her and yep... you guessed it, it was Jordan following us.  Mommy then asked him his name and how old he was, he told us, and then we never saw him again!  All in all, it's been a pretty great summer at the pool and I can't wait for next year!

Zoo fun!

Okay, I tried the zoo out again and had a blast this time!  I went with Haley, Uncle Wes, Grandpa Albrecht, and Aunt Lisa and Myranda were there for awhile, too.  Haley showed me all the incredible exhibits and we had a great time!  The gorillas were playing hide and seek which Mommy thought was so funny!  I really enjoyed the jungle, and the amphibian house.  I also found a little lion cub and learned how to growl!  By the end of our time there I was WIPED OUT!

Check this out!

Well, for the last couple months I have been getting stronger and stronger.  As you can see, I enjoy doing push-ups.  I feel this exercise is going to really help me when I figure out how to crawl.  I'm still trying to figure out how to get my arms moving once I get up on my hands and knees.
In the other pictures, Mommy came into my room and caught me playing with all my bear friends in my crib.  We have a blast together!  We decided to take a group picture.

A Note From Mom:
I hear Lucy pretty much every morning now around 7:30AM playing with her friends and just laughing and chatting away.  Waking up to that is pretty incredible!

Jumping!

I can now jump (actually more like "topple") into the pool all by myself!!!  I sit on the edge and Mommy counts to three and then says jump and I smile and go for it... usually!

A Note From Mom:
This is seriously one of the CUTEST things Lucy does!  I count and she gets a HUGE smile on her face and then just kind of falls into the water and closes her eyes and gets ready just in case she goes under!  Too much!  We did it over and over for quite a long time yesterday because I just couldn't get enough of that smile!

My busy July

Well again, I have become so busy that I've not made time to keep up on my blog!  I'm so sorry to my faithful onlookers.  Mommy and I are really going to try to be better!

The month of July was fun, busy, and HOT!  Mommy and I are frequently at the pool and I really enjoy the water.  I love to kick, I love to splash, and I love to jump into Mommy's arms and pretend that I swim across the pool (and actually I guess I pretend to jump in, too, because I can't really do that!).  We see Aunt Lindsay and Taylor there a lot, and I've also made a few friends each time I've been there.  It's a blast!

My first celebration of my freedom proved to be as chaotic as Mommy warned it would be!  I did love the sparkly fireworks, and Daddy seemed to be having a really great time.  I think here in the next couple years the two of us are going to have a really great time celebrating together!

We were fortunate for a few days this month to have some overcast, rainy days and I took advantage of the puddles!  Grandpa Albrecht and I went out and played in them and it was pretty fun.  I also took my first trip to the zoo.  I was a little sleepy so I just wasn't that into it until I saw the gorillas.  I liked them a lot.  And Mommy noticed that I kind of sit like a little gorilla.

I'm into everything that I can get my hands on!  I can't wait until I can start crawling and REALLY getting into things!  I've mastered getting on my hands and knees, but I can't quite figure out how to get moving, so I usually just roll over and then just roll everywhere.  Mommy sets me in one place and if she turns her back for a second, I make my move and I'm across the floor in a flash!  I also love to help Mommy with everything.  If she's in the kitchen making something, then I feel I need to be right in there with her.  I really enjoy rolling out dough... and then sticking my fingers in it before Mommy can catch my hands!

Tig and I are best pals!  She just cracks me up.  She barks, I laugh.  She jumps, I laugh.  She runs after her ball, I laugh.  I just really like her a lot!  And she LOVES to kiss me every chance she gets!

Hope you enjoy the pictures of my life!
Love,
Lucy
