The many faces of Elly... our 8 month old!

We often see this face... it means,
"I WANT MY MOMMY!!"
Curious as a cat...
I'd eat you too if you were anywhere near my mouth...
I probably just pulled someone's hair...
Elly in all her glorious roundness!

Elly is SO close to crawling. She scoots around on her little rump and gets really mad if I leave the room because she can't follow. She gets her little legs under her, but is a little shaky in the arms and then flattens out! Then gets mad... it's pretty cute.
She wants Mommy ALL the time. She wants to grab whatever she sees. She LOVES to pull hair and then laugh about it. When she's happy, she's SUPER happy. When she's mad, she is SUPER mad!
I love her. She's my best friend.

A rainy, but super fun, day at the zoo

Well, this is how we started out.
But, we were soon having a blast...
and snacks...
We played on this rock for quite a bit. We both kind of like to climb on things.
The lions and tigers were being super lazy today, it was a perfect day for it.
This was the only shot that Mommy was able to take quickly enough with us both looking and of course, both saying "CHEESE!".
This was a closed off area that we REALLY needed to check out.
We pretended this tiny lion was a horse. I even made horse noises and said "Yee-haw" while I rode it.
Elly and this little guy chatted it up about being wild and shared great stories with each other.
All of a sudden, Mommy said, "Taylor? Hey, where did Taylor go??"
And then around the corner she came as fast as she could!! Yelling and screaming! :)
It started out kind of drizzly, so we just visited the animals inside the buildings for awhile. Then we decided it was just best to have some lunch and once we were done, it was a great day outside. So, then the fun really began! Taylor and I were able to run, and run, and run some more. We were pretty worn out on the way home, and I crashed as soon as I was home cozied up in my bed... as did Mommy and Round Baby. Taylor, however, does not have that Mexican blood running through her so siestas are not her thing. :) Mommy asked her if she wanted to come home with us and take a nap and she just smiled and said no.
**A NOTE FROM MOM**
On the way home, Lucy was seriously so wiped out she was just laying her head on her little blanket and not making a sound. Taylor kept asking her something and then ask, "Kay, Luc? Luc? Kay?". Then she'd say something else again and then again ask, "Kay, Luc?". Lucy finally responded by saying quite intensely, "NOOO! Night, night."
Meaning... "Cousin Taylor, whom I adore and love, I would rather not be talking right now, but would prefer to lay my head on my blanket."
I really LOVE little girls. Who knew???

A perfect day, indeed.

First things first...
look at this wild baby!
This captures Elly perfectly at this time in life. She is always grabbing something (usually Mommy's or my hair); she wants whatever you have all the time; she's just wild. And still very round which I'm sure adds something to the wildness.

This picture was taken at the park. We went for a walk today and ended up at the park. I LOVE it when this happens. I played on the slide mostly. I like the merry-go-round, too, but I can go down the slide by myself. Mommy has to push me on the merry-go-round... and I kind of like to do things myself.
Then I had some snacks and played SOME MORE! It was really almost more than I could handle. Then Round Baby was getting tired, so Mommy said I could go down the slide three more times. I decided I was ready after two. I grabbed my juice and a book and we headed home.

Then once we were home, I was let into the backyard to play some more.
"Whoa! Surely I must be dreaming!"... was my first thought. But then I reasoned that I'm a pretty cool little lady and my Mommy must have just wanted to show me that she appreciates that in me. So, she went inside and made some lunch and put Elly down for her nap (however, this was not the last time I would see Elly... she's full of mischief, people, really!).
Gardening...
Picking off flower buds...
Then I had lunch OUTSIDE on our porch! Do you know how awesome it is to eat outside?? This is also when Elly reappeared. Oh, so rambunctious. I hear Mommy say this a lot about her. I think it's Mommy's way of saying she's super cute. So, we hung out for awhile eating and then I headed back to play some MORE!
In this photo, Mommy just asked me what I was trying to make Lellow Ti eat.
Mommy: "Uh...Lucy, what is that?"
I try to shove the unknown into Tig's mouth.
Mommy: "Lucy, what are you trying to make Tig eat? I don't think she wants it."
Me: "Eat... Mud."
Mommy: "WHAT?!"
Me: "Eat... Mud... Ti."
Mommy: "NO! We don't feed Tig mud. She doesn't want to eat mud."
I just laughed after that and threw it on the ground.
And then I began to pull her tail, which is a game she LOVES to play... hehehe oops, I meant that I LOVE to play. She actually tries to get my hand which always makes me laugh.
Then I went inside to have a snack and help Mommy make some cookies, watched a little video, and waited for Daddy to get home so I could run and jump into his arms. And I did. And he loved it.
Oh, yes indeed, a perfect day.

"Lellow Ti" and Begonias

This is Tig, aka "Lellow Ti" (this is what I call her because she is yellow and her name is Tig). We're pretty tight. We've become pretty good pals lately because usually every day I am able to talk Mommy into letting me loose in the backyard to play with her. We explore; we look through the fence at people walking by... Lellow Ti barks, I just stare; I find sticks for her to chew on... sometimes she doesn't take them the first time I offer so I just keep shoving them into her mouth until she takes it; we sit in my tree house together; she walks with me while I water my plants; she's just a good dog. Mommy calls her Disobedient Tig, because sometimes, only sometimes, she disobeys Mommy.
In this picture, I am taking her for a walk in our back yard. As you can see, she loves it.
Yesterday was a rainy, wonderful day. Mommy and I decided to plant some Begonias while Round Baby took a nap. It was a bit chilly so we both put on our snow boots, but called them our gardening boots. I also was able to use my gardening gloves and shovel that my Great Aunt Judy gave me. They worked splendidly! And now, I have something to actually water with my watering can. Usually I just pretend.
I really enjoyed this part. I really like dirt.

Here I am doing a little dance before I begin. I feel you should always get loosened up by dancing before you begin any project... ALWAYS.

SPRING has sprung!

We looked out our door today and saw some little finches building a new home on our porch!
How exciting!! I hope we'll be seeing some baby birds soon.

The tree in our backyard is GORGEOUS right now!
It is the perfect shade of pink and calls to you to come sit under it, or hide behind it like I like to do. There's a nice little path beside it that Tig has worn, and only her and I can fit on it. It's perfect.
And when you look up... oh, loveliness!

And our lilacs never last long enough so we had to get some pictures. Mommy will be snipping some off tomorrow so we can smell pure delight throughout the house!
Spring is just so refreshing.

Organization is her middle name!

Elly, like Mommy, loves all things organized.
Everyday, she loves to organize the cabinets in which our snacks are kept.
She's pretty good at it.

A nice little evening parade...

First off, look at this guy and his dog... they are ON TOP of a roof to watch a parade.
I wish I could have been on a roof.
However, I was in my new ride! We just got our double jogger and it's pretty much all Mommy talked about all day. She loves it. She really, really loves it. Believe me, I've heard how much she loves it all day long. Anyway, it is very nice and Elly and I do very much enjoy riding next to each other. However in this picture, Elly was with Daddy, which she occasionally enjoys as well.

Then she needed Mommy again, so she sat on the curb with her.

And then the parade started!
These elephants were pretty much the highlight.
That should give you some idea of this so called parade we witnessed.

Banjo playing crazy men
Crazy Clown men
A ferry float
Crazy dressed inmates, with krazy kops

So... it was nice to get out. And we did happen to see some friends.
The parade... hmm.

Naps are overrated...

***MOM DISCLAIMER***
Pictures of underpants are not normally allowed on this blog; however, in order to show the wildness of nap time today, underpants must be viewed.

I take a nap pretty much every day. Round baby does as well. Often times, Mommy will take a little rest herself. Hello! Our Mexican blood runs true when it comes to siestas!
Today started off no differently, except I decided I wanted to sleep in the big bed with Mommy and Elly. Mommy seemed thrilled with the idea (she loves to cuddle every chance she gets!) (with us... she only likes to cuddle every chance she gets with Daddy, Elly, and myself... so please don't try to cuddle with her... she would actually not like that at all). So, Mommy laid down, laid Elly on her side of the bed, and I got to lay on Daddy's side. :) I also had each of my blankets with me which total... maybe 6? So, I was nice and cozy.
But... I was also still a little bit energetic. Mommy was trying her best to ignore me singing, kicking the blankets up in the air, grabbing Elly's hand (which by the way, Elly loved! She wishes we would take naps together EVERY DAY!), and rolling around from side to side. But, eventually she became a tad disturbed by it.
She said, "Lucy, if you don't shut your eyes and go to sleep, you are going to need to go to your own bed."
I smiled and shut my eyes. But then I grabbed Elly's hand again.
"Lucy!"
I quickly cozied up to my blankets... but then I was under the blankets and that was fun so I started to kick.
"Alright, Lucy, one more time, and you're going to need to move to your bed."
So rather than take my one more time, I just said, "Okay, Mommy." And then I jumped off the bed and ran to my own bed.
Mommy came and tucked me in and smiled.
I don't know what she did after that, but she didn't come back into my room for quite some time (*two hours*), and when she did come back...

mischief may have been taking place.

When Mommy tucked me in, I had pants on; my books were not on the floor; that drawer was not open and it's contents were not all over the floor.
I noticed she had her camera so, of course, I posed and said "Cheeeeese".
I pointed to my belly button because I really like it.
